A wonderful contribution from ChallahCrumbs:

Materials:

  • Balloons
  • White Glue
  • Thick Ribbon
  • Glitter
  • Colorful Yarn
  • Tissue Paper

Instructions:
All crafts start with blowing up a balloons. Balloons should not be blown up their fullest. Each balloon should be small/medium sized.

Cover the balloon in white glue. This can be done in one of two ways:
1. Use a paintbrush and paint the balloon.
2. Stick your hands in the glue (my kids’ preference) and cover the balloon in glue.
Choose any (or all) of the options below:

Ribbon Balloon
Wrap thick ribbon (pictured) around the balloon. It does not need to be perfect. You can cut the ribbon mid-way through wrapping the balloon and restart wrapping at another place. The outside of the ribbon will also be messy – it will have the texture from gluey hands. You can add glitter on top of the ribbon.

Let the ribbon dry completely.

Pop the balloon.

Add string to the top of the ribbon and hang it up in your Sukkah.

Tissue Paper Balloon
Once the balloon is covered in glue, add different colors and shapes of tissue paper on to the balloon. Add two or three layers of tissue paper around the balloon.
Let the balloon dry completely.
There is no need to pop the balloon. Add string to the bottom of the balloon and hang it up in your Sukkah.

Colorful Yarn
Prepare a paper plate with white glue.
Cut different colors of yarn the length of the balloon. Dip the yarn in the glue and place it on the balloon. Repeat until the balloon is covered in yarn.
Let the balloon dry completely.

Pop the balloon.
Add string to the top of the ribbon and hang it up in your Sukkah.
